A tree is an almost perfect construction; efficient, slender, it improves the atmosphere that surrounds it, serves as a home, shelters, and nourishes countless inhabitants.
In an area clearly marked by the existence of a large park that connects it to the urban fabric, creating a lung for Málaga, a construction of the magnitude we are dealing with could not be oblivious to it, nor to the commitment of architecture and society to sustainability and, by transitive law, to nature.
Our proposal takes its name from an extraordinary visitor rooted in Málaga: the Ceiba. When we talk about a building, the similarity to a tree usually remains at the trunk itself, which in this case is unique, as we go much further, delving into the concepts of branches, leaves, bark, and life, ideas that define the Ceiba project.
The green of the park generates a unique opportunity to provide the city of Málaga with a green space that oxygenates the urban fabric and provides the residents of the new towers with a natural space.
It is from that space that the three towers grow, where the green mantle rises and becomes one with the project.

Located in the emerging city of Malaga, the project forms part of the Parque Martiricos regeneration plan, situated adjacent to the Guadalmedina riverside, and stands as the most significant transformation to the city's skyline to date.
The inception of the project stemmed from an exhaustive exploration into the optimal fusion of residential and hotel accommodations. Frequently, residential towers are crafted with such depth that internal spaces become dimly lit and the layout labyrinthine. However, in this instance, the floor plan was meticulously devised as a direct response to achieving the pinnacle of programmatic realization. This deliberative process ultimately led to the conception of a branching architectural design, organically evolving to harmonize with its surroundings.
Program:
The two towers, which rise more than 120 metres, constitute a complex of 198 rental flats, 252 flats for sale and a hotel. The amenities necessary to cover the programme are located on the ground floor and on the roof floor, with swimming pools at the top of both towers.
A white sheet.
The formal inspiration comes from studying the folds and cuts of a white sheet and the design possibilities that this simple and clean mechanism offers us... the rest, as always, hours and hours of work to develop the idea.

In the heart of the Retiro district in Madrid, the building is located on a corner parcel with urban planning conditions that allow the building to be set back. In this way, the tower and a linear element that opens onto the site and continues to form the visual perspective from c/ Astros are located on the northwest corner.
Genesis - A play of volumes
The exercise we have proposed has a higher degree of complexity than our previous organicist projects, as we adjusted to a very rational initial fit, which lacks terraces and led us to create a static volume. The solution appeared by optimising the communication spaces, which allowed us to place terraces at the corners of the tower and thus break with the forcefulness of the building.
A three-dimensional grid
The personality is given to the building by the parametric texture that makes up its façade. I say texture because, unlike other works, it is not a geometry of horizontal or vertical bands, but a three-dimensional mesh that connects all the points of the building's façade. At Pixar there are more draftsmen than 3D animators, in this case, it is the same, even though the latest technology has been used to model the final result, in reality it has all been a struggle to replicate a drawing. That drawing was made on top of some modelling, which aimed to replicate other drawings... without this blending of technology with pure craftsmanship, neither the project nor the resulting building would be possible.

Benidorm is a location with a personality beyond any doubt. While some of its examples may be questioned, the reality is that it is a tremendously successful city model, where the degree of accessibility of services and points of interest are far greater than in horizontal city models. Within this slender profile, and in addition to TM's previous locations, the tower response with a fresh and commercial architecture, is almost obligatory.
The Silhouette
Among many other things, Alvar Aalto taught us that the silhouette of buildings is very important. This is a very good exercise in the first phase of Waves and should not be lost in the second phase. Apart from making the development recognisable from near and far, it is a distinguishing mark of identity that we must take advantage of. Master Aalto did not design his silhouette in 2D, it was a changing silhouette, designed to be perceived from the walkway.
What do you miss most about ancient buildings?... for me, the shadows...
Their living, changing appearance that Monet captured in his paintings of Rouen Cathedral. Flat, two-dimensional façades only give us a façade and brief moments of change with tangential light. Our façade has to be three-dimensional and alive throughout the day and night... for this we are going to take special care of the shadows and we are going to use them to connect the buildings.

Located in a city as remarkable as Lisbon, the Distrikt project generates a new housing concept that has been designed to the maximum, giving all of them exclusive terraces with unequalled ocean views.
Programme
The four towers generate a complex with 219 dwellings that overfly over an open floor plan designed with amenities and free spaces. Below this, almost 2,500 square metres of commercial space are distributed, as well as the different entrances to the portals and garage.
Magnetic architecture
The river and the sea are such an important pole that they eclipse everything else, especially when they also coincide with the best solar orientation. These factors, together with the non-computability of the terraces, and the problem of solving the eternal problem of the corner houses facing north and east, led us to opt for a 45º turn of the houses, which guarantees maximum contact with the exterior of the main rooms and 100% of the houses with the best views and orientation.
Mist
The base of the building is used to house the commercial area and is segregated from the residential area by a floor that is invaded with a carefully designed landscape that echoes the strong personality of the building's geometry. Magnetism intervenes in this green and friendly space, signalling the circulation flows to the portals and has as its central pole a spectacular organic swimming pool around which gravitates the whole series of spaces for the enjoyment of this unique built park.

Located right in the centre of Valencia, Géminis stands next to the city's town hall, with privileged views of the Sierra Calderona mountain range. The project is committed to optimising the vertical nucleus, thus obtaining a maximum number of dwellings.
Programme
The two towers generate a complex with 128 dwellings and almost 1,000 square metres of open terraces. On the ground floor, linked to the open space, is the commercial area as well as the amenities of the residential area.
Genesis - Air
These towers are an anomalous element in the urban landscape of Mislata due to their height, which is much higher than the surrounding buildings. In order to fit into the urban landscape of the city, the architecture has to appear light. To achieve this, we removed terraces on all the facades, blurring the terraces and achieving panoramic and unobstructed views from inside the houses.
Joker
The project includes a piece that we have called "joker", which allows us to offer a very small two-bedroom flat, necessary, in our opinion, in this inflationary market and in accordance with the capacities and needs of the millennial public. We call it "joker" because by joining 2 jokers we create a 3 bedroom duplex, dividing it between the two adjoining houses we get 2 great 4D, moving, it allows a 2D and a 3D, and so on.

Life is an adventure.
"Call me Ishmael. Some years ago—never mind how long precisely—having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen... Whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off—then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this."
The Shape of the Wind
Long before computers enabled Zaha Hadid's parametric architecture, before Jorn Utzon designed that orphaned unicorn known as the Sydney Opera House, ships, through their hulls and, above all, their sails, were already tracing three-dimensional curves with the shape of the wind.
Deconstructing a Sail
A sail is a surface of double curvature that is traced between catenaries held at 3 or 4 points with the added variable in both cases of the possibility that one of its sides is limited by a straight wooden element. Thanks to them, we perceive sailboats as something beautiful, enhancing any landscape they are inserted into, no matter how pristine it may be.
They are shapes that combine concave and convex curves that harmonize as if by magic with each other, even though they are different because they all have the same generating principle.
Sea Views
The compromise between generating a white surface that draws a beautiful double-curved shape on the building and the value of its users having direct views of the sea has two possible solutions that we have developed in parallel; in both cases, the objective is achieved...

Just a few meters from the beach, the project combines a new Skyline for Torrevieja, with an easement of views for the city and minimizes the environmental impact of the project.
Someone defined “The Lord of the Rings” like a lightning bolt in the middle of a sunny, cloudless sky. Similar is the Torrevieja project. In a town with 5 level buildings, our towers, of almost 100 meters, rise as Ikarus, trying to touch the Levantine sun.
The bases from which our towers started were very restrictive, with a very constrained capable volume that hardly gave us freedom of movement. Under these circumstances, we chose to develop a very subtle narrowing of the tower on its upper floors and we were willing to make a game of artifice at the base that would create the illusion of the Towers emerging from the basement.
The verticality of the towers is emphasized by the vertical slits and their organic skin seems to have unfolded during the growth of the same, clinging to them like a vine.
At its base, the towers continue the lines of the urban fabric and generate a link that connects the city with the coast, an ideal finish for the walk on the port. The towers have a slight vectorization towards the sea giving them the aspect of being its guardians. After many hours of work, we felt an achievement of building an icon for the city with the name of the Tower.
