Sustainability

Our genetic process incorporates sustainable parameters for our projects. We work with in-house specialists, tools and sustainable certifications which allow us to asses and reduce the impact of our constructions on the environment while ensuring the health of their occupants.

Certifications and recognition

DGNB

DNGB is a planning and optimisation tool for the assessment of sustainable buildings and districts, developed by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) in 2009.

It is mostly based on National and European Standards.

WELL v2

WELL certification aims to elevate human health to the forefront of urban design, offering health and wellness interventions at the urban scale.

It is mostly based on International and US Standards, although there are partial requirements adapted to Spanish Standards (RITE).

LEED

LEED certification was created in the United States by the GBCI. It aims to quantify the sustainability of the building from different thematic areas during the design, construction and monitoring phase.

It is mostly based on International and US Standards, although there are partial requirements adapted to Spanish Standards (RITE).

BREEAM ES

BREEAM is the first international sustainability certification that was established. In contrast to LEED, it has a greater impact on the construction phase and on the building itself.

BREEAM has been adapted to the Spanish Standard (CTE) thanks to the collaboration between BRE and ITG.

AEO

Created in Spain, the AEO model for the technical classification of office buildings is a rating that allows buildings to be analysed and evaluated. The aggregated score enables the evaluation and classification in one of the five categories (A+, A, B+, B or C).

AEO has adapted to the Spanish Standard (CTE).

HEALTH & SUSTAINABILITY

+

Large corporate firms, aware that it is as important to reduce the impact on the environment as it is to maintain the health of occupants, are applying for joint LEED or BREEAM (Sustainability) and WELL (Health) certification.

In response to this demand IWBI, BRE and GBCI have established common requirements between all certificates.
